Current Data on Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal Lesions in Novel Covid-19 Coronavirus Infection

Abstract

The purpose of presenting this review is to present the current evidence on cardiovascular and gastrointestinal lesions in novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). The review focuses on summarising the global data known by June 2020. An attempt is made to provide a pathophysiological rationale for the structural and functional changes of internal organs. The article focuses on the lesions of the cardiovascular system, liver and small intestine, as well as the issues of diagnosis and rationalisation of basic therapy of inflammatory bowel disease, arterial hypertension and ischaemic heart disease.
