Abstract

Among the many complications of OSAS, one of the most frequent, but poorly understood, is venous congestion of the brain. In order to study the prevalence and severity of venous discirculation in the brain among patients with OSAS, 80 patients with OSAS were examined according to a special scheme to detect venous congestion of the brain. The results showed that 92.5% of these patients had clinical and paraclinical signs of venous congestion of the brain, and in 85% of them the phenomena of venous congestion were pronounced. The authors come to the conclusion that in the treatment of OSAS against the background of basic CPAP therapy, it is necessary to carry out venotonic therapy
